Evaluation Of Elderly Questions

1) Since most of the elderly can't speak English but mostly Chinese, Hokkien and Cantonese, how can we communicate with them?

Now, people would mostly speak the common language, English. Our ancestors came from different countries and travelled to Singapore, seeking for a better life. Since then, they have grown old. We were born in Singapore, learned English in school. So when we speak to our grandparents, we don't know their what they are saying as we don't understand the language they are speaking.

2) How can we solve the problem for the elderly being a 'nuisance' ?

When the elderly go out of their house, they walk very slow. These elderly are blocking the way for those people in a rush to go somewhere.

3) What forms of technology can the elderly own to catch up with the generation?

What kind of the latest technology can the elderly own. The youngsters these days are catching up with the generation of technology while the elderly are in their houses sleeping and not reading up on the newest form of technology which they can communicate. So how can the elderly be more active and buy these technology to catch up with the newer generation?

  1. Some good questions so far...do take a look at how you can expand on some of these questions later on as we moved on into 'identifying the challenge' phase!

  2. For Qs 1, some grandparents know how to speak english very well, some of them would be amrit's grandma. Well, you did mentioned some...

For Qs 2, Not all elderly are a nuisance. It is just that some of them tend to walk slowly due to their health. They may also not understand us therefore we may think that they are irritating...

For Qs 3, I kind of have nothing to talk about it... But, some of them may not have that much money to buy the latest technology...
